Day Four

We lee it was going to be a hot day when after a 30 min walk at 6AM we came to breakfast dripping wet. The day did not disappoint us.

We have a few people suffering minor ailments - 2 with sore throats, one with upset stomach probably from the plane, one with a more serious gum infection. Thank God we have dentists with us who treated him today and started antibiotics.

We have felt led to pursue livelihood opportunities, despite what appears to be organizational resistance. You should see the faces of the people wanting to start a chicken farming cooperative and the women learning to see who have formed the "Jane-Betsy-Alma" JBA seeing coop. What excitement and what beaming hope!

Tomorrow we try to get the community center pillars filled with concrete and the floors (now dirt piles) shoveled and smoothed out and covered with rock, ready for cement. Five pillars done; five more pillars to go!

At vespers tonight we focused on a healing touch and touching the hem of Jesus' robe. We pray we an be a healing touch to the people here who need it and those to whom God directs us. We pray God would also touch our lives through the people here. We can already feel it.
